Mayor Thomas Menino Lights Up the Night

The first-ever Holiday Tree Illumination along the Northern Avenue Bridge with Mayor Thomas M. Menino was a hit! Mayor Menino flipped the switch lighting sixteen evergreen trees lining the bridge’s pathway, setting the Channel aglow for the holiday season. Carolers and Santa Claus added to the festivities, greeting all who came with merriment and holiday cheer. Steaming cups of hot chocolate and homemade brownies kept all warm during the celebration of this first of its kind Fort Point Channel tree lighting.

The Return of the Great Fort Point Pumpkin

The 2005 Great Pumpkin Carving Pageant was a big success! Over 125 pumpkins were carved by parents, kids, local residents, and area workers. Candy apples, popcorn, pretzels, and apple cider were served to feed the creative passions of the carvers. Many exercised their artistic talents, bringing the pumpkins to life with images of witches, black cats, spooky skeletons, and even a dinosaur.
