Open Studios 2005: Floating Art Installation

October 14, 2005-January 31, 2006

@ Fort Point Channel between Summer Street and Congress Street Bridges

Stop by the Summer Street Bridge to view the floating art installation by local artist Colleen Paz.  The installation, a grouping of giant jellyfish, will light up the Channel both day and night, emanating the soft purple and blue hues characteristic of these translucent creatures.

8th Annual ICA/Vita Brevis Project

@ The Northern Avenue Bridge

British artist Julian Opie explores time-honored subjects such as landscape, the figure, and portraiture with contemporary media, including digitally enhanced drawing, photography, and animation to reflect 21st century reality.  Suzanne walking and Julian walking are full-length animated portraits presented on LED screens.  They will be on the Northern Avenue Bridge through October 2006.

25th Annual Fort Point Open Studios

1st Annual Great Pumpkin Pageant

Harborwalk at Children's Wharf

The Friends of Fort Point Channel invite you to carve a pumpkin during the day and then see the pageant of jack-o-lanterns illuminated and displayed on Congress Street Bridge that evening. Info: 617.451.2860x109.

 

Boat Tours of the Channel
Tuesdays, 1-2PM, Thru Oct 5

Depart from Moakley Courthouse Water Taxi Stop
Tour the Channel by water, with Save the Harbor/Save the Bay. Supported by the Friends of Fort Point Channel, the tour will highlight what’s happening and what’s coming while passing under the five bridges that span this unique waterway. Due to popularity, please call 617.451.2860 to reserve a space.

 

Fresh Food Market
Tuesdays, 4-7PM, Thru Oct 28

 Corner of 300 Congress St. & Congress Street Bridge
The Food Project invites you to buy a bagful of fresh locally grown vegetables, fruits, baked goods, flowers and more. All produce is grown and sold by local and suburban teens & volunteers.
