Discovering Justice, a civic and justice education nonprofit housed in the John Joseph Moakley U.S. Courthouse, offers hour-long tours of the Moakley Courthouse from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays; at the John Adams Courthouse, tours are offered on Mondays and Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tour participants learn about the justice system and its origins, as well as the history, art, and architecture of Boston’s magnificent courthouses from knowledgeable, engaging volunteer docents. Anyone over the age of 10 is welcome and all tours are free of charge.
